The Art
I’m a traditional mix media artist working mostly with inks and watercolors. I’m highly influenced by poetry, music, street culture, ancient wisdom and my own innerscape. My main focus is writing and drawing comics (Les Aventures de Météore Latraverse), but I’m open to collabs or commissions. I’m a proud Québécoise so I express myself both in french and english, I hope you’ll embrace this duality of language reflected in my work.
The Artist
I’m Shani, a french Canadian gal from Montreal who escaped the city to move to the country. I come from a street art background and made my mark as a graffiti artist and photographer in my teenage years. I get stupid but I’m dumb wise, que voulez-vous !
In 2013, just as I started to drift away from my wild ways, Météore and the idea of dabbling into comics emerged with a prophetic panel titled Comicstriptease. At that point, I wanted to enroll in film animation school, but instead pursued a degree in art history & cinema. I learned to knit during that time, and it became such a burning passion that I started a natural dyeing studio providing luxury yarns to many knitters around the world. I had many good years as an artisan, but life had other plans and led me back to the artist’s path in spring of 2026, after more than a decade long hiatus. I picked up drawing again as part of my healing process. As a result, I’m now ready to let Météore be perceived by other people… Would you dare step into her world ?
